"Air-Born" participates at open day in
Malpensa Airport
Milan/Malpensa
(MXP/LIMC)
11 September 2011
After the
successful visit, last year, in Malpensa airport of Milan,
in chance of Clipper Day, Air-Born organized this activity
again. On September 11th, members of our society visited the
apron of Malpensa airport and took the chance, that all
spotters, all over the world want and they registered to get
inside the installations of Malpensa airport and spend 8
hours, extremely close to the aircrafts that were visiting
the airport.
Clipper Day ( it took its name from Italian spotters’
society) took place for the first time in 2004 in excellent
collaboration between the authorities of the airport and the
members of the Italian spotters' society, who were also
employees of the airport. First year’s Clipper Day had 16
participants, especially Italians but since then the number
of aviation's friends all over the world has augmented with
great pace. On 2010, 220 spotters from 20 countries
participated and the organization took place during one
weekend, parallel to Grand Prix of Formula 1 in Monza. On
2011, due to the big number of participants, Clipper Day
took place in two weekends, September 11th to 12th & 24th to
25th. The fee is just 10 euros and the only requirement to
participate is that everyone has to wear a yellow reflective
vest, which can be obtained by the organizers.

This year, all attendants enjoyed a day full of aviation
emotions and photographic creativity. We give special thanks to
the head of the organization Guido Allieri for his help and
response and we renew our appointment for the next Clipper Day,
at 2012.
